Lord Louis Mountbatten was the Supreme Allied Commander Europe during World War II, Supreme Allied Commander, South East Asia Command during the Vietnam War, and Chairman of the NATO Military Committee. He became Supreme Allied Commander at Sea in 1959. During his military career he had 34 years of active service. He was the last Viceroy of India and is one of only three people to have won two Nobel Prizes, the other two being Sir Isaac Newton and Marie Curie.
